Icelandic Polar Pony Hair  New Colors for 2010!

Here is an new material that will raise your level of interest and practicality when it comes to tying fresh and saltwater flies. We are extremely excited about this new material and its uses. Imported from Iceland, Polar Pony's major use in fly tying is a streamer wing material. That being said, fly tiers from all over the globe are starting to use Polar Pony for many different type of flies. The uniqueness of Polar Pony is the texture and length of hair. Never before has a natural material provided fly tiers with choices in long lengths of fiber. Polar Pony is available in two different types of hair. Polar Pony Mane averages 9" in length and Polar Pony Tail averages 14" in length. Both types of hair are available in various natural and dyed colors to match most baitfish colors for fresh and saltwater flies. Only yearling Icelandic pony hair is carefully selected, graded and packaged. Polar Pony also blends well with flash, and other natural and synthetic wing materials.

Tying with Natural Polar Pony Hair

bullet

Natural materials provide flies with better fish attracting characteristics than do synthetic materials. Natural wing materials flow and move in still water as well as current better than synthetic materials. Flies look "Alive" in the water!

Tying with a natural material such as Polar Pony is easier than tying with synthetic materials. Polar Pony fibers are semi-hollow which allows the material to compress when tying on to a hook. This allows the material to seat properly which makes a neater looking fly. This material will not matt together and tangle in the vise or the water like most synthetic materials. Flies will keep the natural look throughout your presentation in the water.

Saltwater Fly Tiers, Pike and Musky Fly Tiers will love the tying characteristics of this material. These tiers wish that bucktail hair were available in these lengths! Polar Pony is the right material for the job!

*Please Note: Polar Pony is limited in availability. We currently stock popular colors and have more colors coming in. Please be patient if we are out of stock. We will re-supply as soon as the hair is available. We will hold backorders on paid orders. Customers ordering the tail and mane selections: If we are out of one or two colors, we will substitute tail or mane depending on availability. I f you have special requests please call or email: nick@theeveningrise.com.
