Our Story

Established in 1980, The Evening Rise™ started as a one man operation. Tying flies commercially and teaching fly fishing and fly tying started our journey. The name "The Evening Rise" was inspired by a family name for a wonderful Trout pool on the Bushkill Creek in northeastern Pennsylvania. In the spring and early summer this Trout pool would always produce rising Trout. I cherish the memories of "The Evening Rise" pool and the fun it brought to me and my family while learning to fly fish 36 years ago. Our retail business started at our home just outside of Intercourse, PA on Rt. 340 in 1986. With the help of my wife Bev and family and with a great deal of hard work, we grew to become a full service fly fishing pro shop. Today the shop continues to be family owned and operated by the DelleDonne family. Our specialty is Fly Fishing in all areas and aspects of the sport. We are committed in providing top quality products, product knowledge and service to our clients. Our clients are not only our customers but our friends as well.
