We feel it's the best Fly Fishing leader ever. Furled leaders are made with a series of loops, layers and twists using monofilament line of various diameters to produce the leader. This process produces a tapered leader that has loops at each end for easy attachment to the fly line and for adding tippets. The leader has a built-in shock absorbency that stretches when setting hooks on hard striking fish. Casting and presentation are much improved when using furled leaders. Wind knots become rare and spooking fish happens a lot less often. These leaders have been passed down to modern day anglers from the days of Izaak Walton and Charles Cotton. Both Walton and Cotton used these same leaders, only theirs were made of horse hair and not monofilament. Fly Fishers Furled Leaders are handmade for "The Evening Rise" in Olympia, Washington, USA.

Furled Leader Configuration: A Tapered Furled Leader comes with a loop on the fly line end of the leader and a stainless metal tippet ring on the tippet end of the leader. Furled leaders are listed by total leader length (Furled section plus 3 feet of tippet material). A 9' furled leader consists of a furled section of 6' and a tippet section of 3'. A 7' furled leader consists of a furled section of 4' and a tippet section of 3'. Furled Leaders are sold without tippet sections. Simply add your own tippet and your ready to fish. Feel free to add 3 to 6 foot of tippet lengths to your furled leader, is sizes 3X through 10X, depending on fly size.
