CLASSIC STREAMERS AND WET FLIES

2008 - 3nd Annual Class!

Here is a rare chance to learn from one of the best classic fly tiers of our time. Learn the techniques of tying the true classic flies made popular by Ray Bergman (1891-1967), Charles DeFeo (1891-1978), Preston Jennings (1893-1961), Mary Orvis Marbury (1856-1914), and Carrie Stevens (1882-1970).

Don Bastian is an artist at the vise and will show you the fine art of tying these classic flies. Don Bastian is a native Pennsylvanian and renown fly tier, author and fly fisherman. His specialty is the Classic Wet Flies and Streamers of the early great fly tiers. We are fortunate to have Don Bastian at the shop and to offer his special class. The class is open to all students who have had at least one basic fly tying class and is looking to improve skills. This class promises to fun and informative. NOTE: Seating in this class is limited. Please reserve early! The class curriculum will be significantly different than last years class. New patterns and new techniques for this years class. This class will be ausome!

Class Dates: February 23 & 24, 2008

Saturday (9am - 4:30pm), Sunday (9am-1pm)

*Class Fee: $ 175.00 per Student (Maximum 8 Students)

*Class fee includes instruction only. Students will be responsible for providing personal tying tools and portable tying lamp in the class. Students will also be responsible for having specific tying materials for the class. All materials will be available at "The Evening Rise" for purchase. A complete list of tying materials needed will be available at the shop prior to class. Students will receive a 10% discount on all tying materials purchased for Don's class!

Registration: Full payment in advance is required to reserve. Call the store during store hours at (717)509-3636 and reserve your space with you credit card. Visa, Master Card and Discover Cards Welcome! You may also mail a check for the class fee to the shop. All reservations are first come first serve. All shop classes and are subject to the stores Policies and Procedures. Please refer to these when registering for a class.

Intermediate/Advanced Fly Tying Class Prerequisite: Students must be able to tie basic fly patterns and must have a working knowledge of basic fly tying methods and techniques. All students are required to have taken an Introduction or Basic Fly Tying Class or equivalent in order to enroll in any advanced class. If you have not had a class, please consider our Basic Fly Tying 101 class.

Please Note: Classes and Trips are subject to the stores Policies and Procedures. It is the clients responsibility to become familiar with these procedures at the time of registration.
