The fly tiers round table is a monthly
event at the shop featuring guest fly tiers demonstrating their particular fly
tying interest and expertise. This is an informal event that is open to
intermediate to advanced fly tiers who would like to learn new skills,
techniques and new fly patterns. We invite anyone who is interested to stop in
and view the demonstration. We also invite you to bring your fly tying tools and
materials and tie with the instructor. We will have fly tying stations set up in
our fly tying area in the store for customers to come in and participate. Our
FTRT started this fall in October and has been very popular. Our fly tying
topics and demo's will be diverse and informative. You may even meet a fishing
buddy at the table! This is a great time to interact with fly tiers of all ages
and levels in order to achieve one common goal; having fun and the continued
education in the fine art of fly tying!
We ask that all people who would like to
participate and tie flies be at least an intermediate fly tier. This means that
you have had at least one basic fly tying class under your belt. Instructors
will appreciate this in order to demo their fly patterns without the need to
teach basic fly tying. New fly tiers and anglers with fly tying interest are
certainly invited to watch! Folks with the interest of learning to tie flies
will fuel their interest watching the FTRT demo's.
We encourage fly tying participants to
mentor another person that has an interest in fly tying. This is a great way to
bond while having great fun. Bring your son, daughter, nephew, niece, neighbor
or family friend to discover the art of fly tying!
If you have the interest in learning to
tie flies please check out our Basic Fly Tying 101
classes!
The FTRT is open to anyone with interest in fly tying and
is totally FREE OF CHARGE! FREE FOOD AND
REFRESHMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PARTICIPANTS!
